I left for college with a level of confidence that would be tested. Like all first-year college students, the vastness of this new experience away from family would be daunting. But I loved being on my own in New York City – despite living in a dorm with roommates. The challenges I faced during my college experience were different. How I responded to them was the same . . . sometimes.
But thinking back on these experiences, I realize how the words of others could have influenced my sense of worth and my decision to become as obscure as a wall. Join me as I share my Getting Off the Wall journey over the next few weeks.
